Covenant of Peace: A Return to Holiness

6 Into the New Covenant

The New Covenant spans from John the Baptist's and Jesus' infancy at the beginning of the Inter-Covenantal period to all things being found and fulfilled in Jesus Christ by means of His death, resurrection, and ascension, followed by the Baptism of Fire and of the Holy Spirit. The New Covenant consists of God's Greater Glory that surpasses and obsoletes the glory of all other covenants.

There is a Greater Grace that first accompanied truth in the person of Jesus Christ. Legalistic demands are replaced by faith working through love. There is a priesthood of all believers. God has become approachable in the New Covenant.

The Holy Spirit was poured out in power and presence to indwell believers. Each receives the Holy Spirit as a teacher, counselor, and comforter. The Holy Spirit speaks the very words of Jesus. He enjoins believers into an intimate relationship with God the Father and God the Son. The church, that is the bride of Christ, fellowships with God in heavenly places. Jesus as the Lamb of God is forever before the throne of grace, making intercession for the saints, while the Holy Spirit is correspondingly making intercession for believers.

The New Heavens and New Earth were ushered in when Jesus ascended into heaven. Just as Jesus is alive forevermore, so shall the New Heaven and New Earth persist. There is an intersection of the Kingdom of Heaven on earth for believers from generation to generation. The Healing of the Nations is available to all who have fellowship with Christ and who walk in holiness. Eternal life is secured by faith and obedience to Christ. As a result, Jesus welcomes us no longer as servants, but as friends.
