3 Prophecies of the New Covenant
God introduced his New and Everlasting Covenant of Peace to the three major Old Testament prophets, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel. They showed covenant faithfulness and primary allegiance to God rather than to kings, even if the kings were not favorable to what God had to say. The prophets were God's news channel to Israel.
They encouraged kings who served God, but they rebuked ungodly kings, even at great risk and cost to their own lives. The prophets had a special relationship with God. They heard His heart and wept with Him over Israel. They had a holy zeal for the word of the Lord, choosing to defend God's agenda over that of Israel and the surrounding nations.
